Doxycycline is used to treat infections caused due to bacteria. It reduces the growth of drug-resistant bacteria and helps vibramycin to work effectively. After taking certain medicines for a long period of time, the body develops immunity to the drug. This prevents the actual drug from acting effectively on the disease. Vibramycin is used to treat bacterial infection. Doxycyline is used to kill bacteria resistant from pneumonia, lyme disease, acne, venereal diseases and anthrax causing bacteria. It is also proved to have treated malaria successfully. Doxycycline belongs to the broad spectrum antibiotic. The tetracycline antiobiotic, doxycycline prevents the incidence of infections. But it is not effective on common colds or flu which is either caused by viruses or fungi.
Doxycycline intake must be seconded by the doctor's advice. If you are allergic to drugs you must take necessary precautions and also make sure whether the components of the drug are safe for you. The dosage of doxycycline can cause some side-effects like a sore throat or dizziness or an upset stomach. Side-effects cannot affect everybody though.
